Coaching Journey Begins

Transitioning to a coaching role in 2004, Singh commenced his coaching career with the Indian Air Force team and the Services Kabaddi team. His pivotal role in shaping the future of the Indian Kabaddi team spanned from 2009 to 2014, during which he guided the team to a gold medal victory in China in 2008.

Pro Kabaddi League – A Coaching Success Story

Ram Mehar Singh’s coaching journey in the Pro Kabaddi League includes a significant milestone. In season 5, he masterminded the Patna Pirates’ championship victory. Despite the absence of star player Pardeep Narwal, Singh skillfully assembled a winning team that secured the season 5 Pro Kabaddi League title.

As a Kabaddi player, Ram Mehar Singh achieved remarkable success. He served as the captain of the Indian Kabaddi team in 1998 at the Asian Games in Bangkok and in 2002 at the Asian Games in Busan, Korea, both of which resulted in gold medal victories for India.

  • In 2001, the Haryana government bestowed upon him the Bhim Award.
